Certified Used Cars A customer came in looking for a
used car yesterday. She says "I want something reliable, that is good on gas". After several questions I eliminated most of our
used car inventory seeing as how she wanted a 175 dollar a month payment.
Used cars are tricky because what most people don't understand is that the banks control everything about the
used car market. From the selling price to the
trade amount of a
used car. Banks have predetermined how much a
used car is worth now and how much that same
used car will be worth in five years. They will even speculate geographic areas and zip codes for instance,
78666 may have a completely different
used car demographic than Austin. Something to consider is what is the perception of a
used car made by different manufacturers. A
used Toyota will have a higher resale value based on its track record. Therefore the bank will loan more and longer for a
used Toyota with 100,000 miles, vs. a
used Chevy of the same year and miles because the track record of the Toyota is that it will drive longer with fewer problems.
