Are You Special?

Become the Change
Everybody wants to feel special. Social media has made it easier to make people feel special.  I went to the Alamo Drafthouse for a soft open and couldn't help but feel a little more entitled because I'm the mayor. I know its silly but so is checking in and earning points and competing for the top spot.  I started thinking about how cool it would be if there was a monitor that would post pictures or maybe a twitter feed that would allow you to engage Alamo Drafthouse and have 1 person behind the scenes managing that community.  Just an idea but how cool would it be if your your customer checked in on foursquare at your dealership and when they  bought a car, you could congratulate them on the monitor in front of everyone all over the store. Most stores have CCTV cameras, what if you could use those same cameras to put a video of their purchase experience and send it to them as a thank you.  You could put the sales mans picture and contact information in the video as well as a dedicated service advisor with his name and bio.  WOW! The possibilities are endless and there are so many ways for us to make our customers feel special. However as long as the job is getting done without it, why invest any time or money to do something that generates no revenue for the dealership, but merely serves up another cost.  I tell you the possibilities are endless unfortunately so are the list of objections. I'm in on making people feel special. What do you think?
